The first group of YCI participants in Egypt graduated from a pilot programme at the Marriott Cairo Hotel in 2009, where five young people from disadvantaged backgrounds learned a range of skills through a mix of theoretical and practical training.

INJAZ Egypt, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, is YCI’s local partner, assisting with the identification and recruitment of suitable students and providing further support in the delivery of the training, whilst monitoring the progress of the participants during the programme. The programme is currently set to expand in Cairo by engaging four top properties from different hotel companies including Fairmont, Four Seasons, Marriott and Starwood.
