Appropriate applicants are selected from a group of school leavers, identified with the help of programme partners such as local NGO’s, Education Boards and UNICEF. The hotel managers carry out the programme in a nurturing atmosphere and act as mentors to the participants. Guest lecturers from a variety of private sector businesses are asked to participate in the programme by the in-country coordinator and they bring additional expertise and exposure to a breadth of skills and knowledge. After five to six months, through partnerships with NGO’s and Education authorities, the programme also helps the participants to make career and education choices and all the participants are tracked after their graduation.

New countries are chosen depending on the need of youths in a specific area and the availability of resources to implement the programme. The programme in each country is managed by the local Youth Career Council consisting of hotel General Managers, Non-Government Organisations, a member of the Education Board and other representation where appropriate.
