Stephen Farrant

Stephen Farrant, Director

Stephen joined IBLF as Director of the International Tourism Partnership in March 2009. Prior to this, he spent 18 months working for a tourism consultancy specialising in destination marketing, strategy and sustainable tourism. Stephen has worked in senior front-line roles at British Airways including National Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management, Customer Services, Operations, and Strategy and Alliances. Following this, he began a nine-year stint at VisitBritain, progressing from Business Planning Manager to Head of Partnerships to General Manager, Quality. During his time at VisitBritain Steve also led specific, organisation-wide projects focusing on CRM and branding.

In early 2006, he took up a new role as Director of Membership and Marketing at the RSA, where he was closely involved in their 'Carbon Limited' project. Steve is a member of the UK Sustainable Development Commission’s Advisory Panel. He has recently completed a post-graduate qualification in Business Coaching at the Henley Business School and is a governor of a junior school. Contact Stephen at stephen.farrant@iblf.org

Alberto Canovas Charmel

Alberto Canovas, Head of the Youth Career Initiative

Since 2006, when Alberto joined IBLF, he has been responsible for the global implementation, expansion and operation of the Youth Career Initiative, a six-month education and employability programme for disadvantaged young people that is delivered in partnership with the international hotel industry. Alberto has 12 years of work experience across the private and non-profit sectors in international environments and multicultural teams. His areas of expertise include training and development, human resource management and organisational development.

Prior to joining IBLF, Alberto undertook three major research projects in the fields of leadership development and innovation in manufacturing while he worked for the Leadership Trust Foundation and the Manufacturing Foundation in the West Midlands in association with the Manufacturing Advisory Service and the British Chambers of Commerce. Before he moved to the UK, Alberto worked in people development at DaimlerChrysler Venezuela where he designed and implemented a competency framework for training and developing staff in all organisational levels, delivered the training annual plan, and managed the apprenticeship and internship schemes. Alberto completed a BA degree in Business Administration in his homeland Venezuela and holds an MA degree in Human Resource Development and Consulting from Lancaster University.

YCI Global team Priscila Costa

Priscila Costa, YCI Regional Coordinator, Latin America

In early 2011, Priscila joined the YCI Global Team in order to assist with the coordination of the programmes in the Latin American region. She is also responsible for rolling out the Graduate Tracking System and she helps support the global network of YCI partners.

Priscila has five years experience in events management within the hospitality sector. In her last position, she worked for the Grand Hyatt São Paulo as Event and Groups Coordinator, where she organised several national and international events for corporate clients featuring a wide diversity of groups across market segments. While in this role, she volunteered to coordinate the YCI programme at the hotel for over two years, encouraging greater participation of hotel staff as volunteer teachers and mentors for the initiative. She holds a hotel management degree from Brazilian National Service of Commercial Learning, SENAC. Priscila is currently based in São Paulo, Brazil.

YCI Global Team Adrian Reghelini

Adrian Reghelini, YCI Regional Coordinator Asia-Pacific

Adrian joined the YCI Global Team as Regional Coordinator of the programmes in the Asia Pacific region. He is also responsible for coordinating the set up of the IBLF office in India and also assist in IBLF activities.

Adrian has over four and a half years experience within the hospitality sector. Most recently he worked for the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai as a Human Resources Coordinator, where he organised several staff events. He also took care of the legal compliances of the hotel with regards to employees provident fund, health insurance, etc. While in this role, he was also put in charge of coordinating the CSR activities of the hotel and has worked with a number of local NGO that work in the field to improve the standard of living in the communities around the Four Seasons Mumbai. He holds a hotel management degree from The Institute of Hotel Management, Chennai, and is currently pursuing his Post Graduate diploma in Human Resources Management course at the Wellingkars Institute of Management Developement & Research. Adrian is currently based in Mumbai, India.

Emili Budell

Emili Budell, ITP & YCI Programme Coordinator

Emili has a BA in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris, and a MA in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex where she focused on refugee issues. As Programme Coordinator of the International Tourism Partnership (ITP) and the Youth Career Initiative (YCI), Emili manages a variety of projects including YCI communications, ITP partnership working events, and YCI human trafficking awareness training materials. Emili's wide-ranging professional experience stems from the public and voluntary sectors. As part of the Hate Crime Team within the Brighton local authority, Emili was actively involved in managing city-wide cross-sector partnerships while being the first point of contact for highly vulnerable members of the public. She then travelled to Chiapas in southern Mexico where she ran an education project for indigenous children. Upon her return to England, Emili worked as a coordinator at a Brighton-based charity offering interpreting and translation services.

Emili volunteered for several years teaching English to refugees in Australia and the UK, and she is a trustee of La Chozita, the project she used to run in Mexico. Having worked and studied in six countries, Emili is also fluent in four languages.

YCI Global Team Holly Tuppen

Holly Tuppen, ITP Communications Manager

Holly joined the International Tourism Partnership (ITP) in September 2012 as Communications Manager, which encompasses the management of the ITP, Youth Career Initiative (YCI) and Green Hotelier websites, alongside developing social media strategies and media exposure for ITP and its programmes. Prior to joining IBLF, Holly worked for strategic agencies developing brand and communication plans for clients including TUI, BBC, Diageo and John Lewis. Following a love of travel, in 2008 Holly spent two years circumnavigating the world without flying whilst writing for various publications about the benefits of travelling responsibly.

Upon return she pursued a career in the travel industry becoming marketing manager for the responsible travel website Greentraveller, creating websites and comms plans for volunteer charities based in Nepal and helping other small travel businesses with marketing, editorial and web development needs. Holly holds an MA in Modern History from Oxford University.
