YCI Country Information
In 2007 two Marriott hotels and one IHG property piloted YCI in two Mexican locations, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta. In 2009 Cancun became the third location in Mexico, followed by Riviera Maya in 2015 and Guadalajara in 2016.
YCI currently operates with six leading hotel companies including Fairmont, Hyatt, NH, IHG, Hilton and Marriott participating in the programme in five locations. So far, YCI has seen over 600 graduates in the country.
World Vision Mexico is an international Christian humanitarian organisation that manages the programme in Mexico City and Guadalajara. Cancun, Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta are self-managed programmes. In Guadalajara YCI is an official programme of DIF and the Secretary of Education.
World Vision Mexico is dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Having started operations in Mexico in 1982, World Vision Mexico operate in 9 states, 303 communities and in 25 cities. Their programmes in Mexico have directly impacted over 54,000 people to date, including the most vulnerable children and young people.
